Gatdula J1A March 13, 2014 Accounting Technology and Accountancy graduates are expecting that there will be a good work waiting for them after they finished their courses. To know the career opportunities available for Accounting Technology and Accountancy graduates we will do a research about it. For the information that we need, we conducted an interview and also done library researches. First to know is where accounting really did come from. Accounting is founded by Friar Luca Paciolo and was first published in 1494. It became influential as a profession in England in the mid-1800s. There are laws which are enacted in the year 1913 and 1917 to ensure proper tax accounting. (Wilcox & San Miguel, 1980) Accounting, it is the systematic and comprehensive recording of financial transactions pertaining to a business. Accounting also refers to the process of summarizing, analysing and reporting these transactions. The financial statements that summarize a large company's operations, financial position and cash flows over a particular period are a concise summary of hundreds of thousands of financial transactions it may have entered into over this period. Accounting is one of the key functions for almost any business; it may be handled by a bookkeeper and accountant at small firms or by sizable finance departments with dozens of employees at larger companies (investopedia.com).
